Brian's sweater

Brian's sweater is done! Yahoo! Click on the photo to get a more clear view of the detail. This was a great pattern. I loved making it and I'm very happy with how it came out.

I learned a cool technique to bind-off the ribbing cuffs of the sleeves, which are knit from the shoulder down. I tried my regular cast-off, and it looked too "home-made", so I did a google search on cast-off techniques and found this great website that showed me how to do a Knit-One Purl-One Bind-Off, which makes a much nicer edge. What you do is put all of the knit stitches on one needle and all of the purl stitches on another needle, and you kitchner stitch them together. It's fantastic! It's hard to see in this photo, but it really does look great.

I've been working on several projects, including a baby sweater for a friend who's due this summer. Here's a linen market bag from an old Interweave Knits pattern that I whipped up as a house-warming gift for a friend of mine.

Here's the bag filled with goodies from Western NY (wine and hot sauces for her and her husband, respectively).
