Belated Blocking

I finally blocked my version of Ene's shawl from Scarfstyle. I think I finished it before we moved to State College, over a year and a half ago, and just never got around to blocking it. The only reason I finally blocked it was because I wanted to donate the blue scarf in the photo to our knitting guild for a charity tree, and it needed to be blocked, so I figured I'd do them both at once.

Here's a close up of the detail:

This is my latest project that has kept me from working on Brian's sweater and the Bauhaus sweater. It's the estonian lace baby blanket from Fiber Trends. I'm using a cotton blend that's very soft and washable, and it's even almost local, as it's made in Nazareth PA. It's for my sister-in-law, who's not due until May, but I wanted to start early so that it would be done in time. I liked the color so much that I don't care if the baby's a girl. She's not hung up on tradition, so she'll be happy with any color.

Here's a scarf kit from Morehouse Merino that I'm trying finish so that I'll only have three works in progress instead of four.

Michelle--Your Ene's scarf is beautiful! I find I wear mine a lot. I used Knit Picks' "Shadow" yarn which was quite fine...mine isn't quite shawl-size, but bigger than a regular "kerchief."

And that baby blanket is wonderful--I'm sure it will be a big hit!

Hope you're having a good week...one more day until I have a day off (because Thursdays are my Fridays). Yahoo!
